Clearprop Hire Club

Due to increasing pressure from insurers we have taken the decision to tighten up the running of our hire club a little. The aim of the initiative is to reduce incidents. Any incident, no matter how big or small, results in aircraft down time as well as an increase in insurance costs which eventually affect us all. In order to keep this to a minimum we are reducing our risks.

-We are unable to accept newly qualified pilots who have been trained at other schools.

-We will only accept pilots who have 50hours 'pilot in command' experience or those who have completed the majority of their training with Clearprop. The flying experience does not need to be on type however we would expect the experience to relate to either fixed or flex wing, whichever you intend to hire.

-We are happy for pilots who have undergone fixed/flex conversion training with us to hire immediately on completion of conversion.

-Group A pilots who wish to convert to microlights should carry out their training with us. This way we know that you have been trained to our standards.

Although these measures may appear a little draconian it is important to us that the aircraft are only flown by people who we can be sure are safe to fly them.
